Goods Receipt in EWM contains the processes for incoming goods. Goods receipt itself is a key process in each warehouse an it is a gateway between external and internal logistics. From warehouse to warehouse processes of goods receipt vary quite differently. It depends on spatial conditions, goods to receipt, quantities, volume, weight but also from accompanying flow of information.
EWM offers different options for integration of processes prior to or trailing to your main process. Processes prior to goods receipt could be for instance transport-, yard- or unload-processes, trailing processes could be deconsolidation, packing, counting and inspection until final putaway. Also dependencies between goods receipt posting and other processes can be designed flexibly.
The goods receipt document is essential for an incoming because it contains all delivery-related data and corresponds closely with the ERP system.
